Developed by Artetra, a European-based software company that uses Europeana’s APIs, the exhibition brings together the contributions from 26 participating Member States and two guest countries in an immersive virtual environment. Directly from your browser, you can freely navigate the exhibition space, explore the collection, and interact with individual 3D models by viewing them from every angle and examining their details up close. From a retreating glacier to the wreck of an 18th-century ship, and from fashion heritage to monumental landmarks, you can now explore and interact with the full Twin it! Part II collection. For each extraordinary 3D model, you can also discover its reuse vision – whether it was created to safeguard, understand, experience or reimagine Europe’s cultural heritage.
Beyond showcasing the campaign results, the exhibition demonstrates the potential of reusable digital heritage content. Through the Artetra platform, the exhibition assets can be reused to create new virtual exhibitions and experiences. This makes it easier for cultural heritage institutions, educators, researchers and other users to build upon the Twin it! collection and present it in new contexts.
We invite you to step into the Twin it! Part II Immersive exhibition, explore Europe's rich digital cultural heritage, and discover how these high-quality 3D assets can continue to inspire new stories and new experiences.
About Twin it! Part II
Organised by the European Commission and the Europeana Initiative under the Polish, Danish and Cypriot Presidencies of the Council of the EU, Twin it! Part II invited all EU Member States to submit at least one high-quality, fit-for-purpose 3D cultural heritage asset with a clear reuse vision (such as research, education, tourism, etc.), supported by additional data, paradata and metadata.
