Encouraging creativity and reuse
Europeana is excited to join CREA Cultura, an international festival celebrating cultural heritage, technology, and creative thinking in Foligno, Italy. From 18-20 March 2026, the festival will bring together schools and cultural organisations from Italy and beyond for three days of exhibitions, workshops and performances, all aimed at inspiring the creativity and developing the digital skills of young people.
Europeana will have a stand in the exhibition space, where visitors can discover our digital cultural heritage and activate their own creativity by creating postcards through collage. We will showcase Europeana’s resources for education and creativity, and demonstrate how to explore our digital collections, made available in the common European data space for cultural heritage through Europeana.eu. Educators and students can learn how these materials support cultural heritage education, offering new ways to engage with Europe's history, art and culture through creative reuse.

Innovation with the Digital Creativity Lab
This year, Europeana will also host the Digital Creativity Lab, an interactive capacity-building programme for selected teams of secondary school students aged 13 to 18. Participants will develop skills in searching and selecting digital cultural heritage, licensing rights and digital storytelling, while exploring design thinking, UX/UI principles and digital prototyping. The Lab will show how digital cultural heritage can be used to communicate ideas meaningfully within digital projects, combining creativity, digital skills and collaborative learning.
