Data Conversations - telling the story of impact
Despite the value that audience insights can offer cultural and creative organisations, they often struggle to understand their audiences in meaningful ways. Existing data collection methods are often too technical, too impersonal, or simply inaccessible for many organisations.
This is a challenge that the Data Conversations project aims to address by developing tools and support to help the cultural and creative industries measure and tell the story of their impact beyond traditional metrics. A Creative Europe co-funded project running from March 2025 to November 2027, Data Conversations brings together a European consortium of expert partner organisations united by a shared goal: to increase the capacity of the cultural and creative industries to collect, interpret and act on audience data.
Develop your skills with the project Residency

This October, Data Conversations is running an Artistic Research and Development Residency in Pisa, Italy, and applications are now open!
The Residency is built around a simple but radical idea: data collection can be a creative act through the implementation of ‘info-experiences’: participatory, artist-designed interactions that generate real insight about audiences, without feeling like a survey.
Through the Residency, participants will have the chance to attend workshops and lectures from experts in data visualisation, information design, and audience research; work in small teams to design four info-experience prototypes; build and test prototypes live at the Internet Festival in front of real audiences; and work toward a larger-scale implementation at the Estonian National Museum in 2027.
The Residency takes place from 1 - 10 October 2026 in Pisa, Italy. Travel, accommodation and meals are covered.
The Residency is open to creative professionals aged between 18 and 30 years old who are residents of an EU Member State.
Apply now!
The deadline for applications to the Residency is 31 May 2026. Visit the Data Conversations website to find out more and submit your application!
