The Europeana Network Association (ENA) has become a thriving community of 2,000+ individuals united by a shared mission to improve access to digital cultural heritage and transform the world with culture. As a representative body, we believe in creative collaboration and teamwork, and we’re committed to sharing, promoting and repurposing Europe’s digital cultural heritage.
In the ENA, we do our best to provide members with a space to work together on topics of common interest in a way that is mutual and rewarding. A key element of this includes the formal representation by those chosen by members. Every year, we let our members elect their representatives in the Members Council, who then speak and make decisions on their behalf. The current Members Council is composed of 36 representatives, 28 of whom will complete their terms and step down this year.
We are looking for 28 active new Councillors to fill those open seats!
Being a Councillor means formally representing and championing the interests of ENA members, as well as bringing your own passions and interests to the fore. You can actively shape the work and services of Europeana and support the creation of its annual Business Plan. You will have the opportunity to elect the ENA’s Management Board and have the opportunity to lead the ENA communities, working groups and task forces that address issues relevant to Europeana and your own community. As the Chair of the ENA’s Governance Working Group, I am excited to formally kick off the 2018 elections campaign! From now until 13 November 2018, we are inviting all Network members to come forward as Members Council candidates to fill at least 28 open seats.
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and sectors relevant to Europeana as long as they are a member of the ENA. If you’re not a registered member yet, there’s still time to sign up - as long as you do so before 1 November 2018.
Please send us your candidate profile and submit your candidacy via the button below explaining why you are running, what you stand for, and what you wish to work towards by 13 November 2018 the latest. We will then formally announce the candidates and start the campaigning process on 20 November 2018, inviting each candidate to promote themselves and the issues they wish to put forward. You can follow the campaign using the hashtag #EuropeanaElects.
The official voting begins on 5 December during the General Assembly meeting at the Europeana Network 2018 AGM in Vienna, Austria. All Europeana Network Association members will then have until 14 December 2018 to vote for as many candidates as there are vacant seats. The voting process is entirely anonymous.
